QR Code Asset Tags

Generates unique QR code labels for assets and racks that can be scanned to instantly pull up the item's detail page.

Overview​

The AssetTag model stores a prefix and tag number (e.g., "VT-1001") and is polymorphically linked to either an Asset or a Rack. Tags generate SVG QR codes that encode a URL to a scan-resolution endpoint. When scanned, the system resolves the tag to its entity and redirects to the detail page.

Field technicians who need to quickly identify equipment by scanning a label — especially during inventory counts and transfers.
