Handover Notes

Personal multi-page documents for shift turnover — recording status updates, known issues, and instructions for the next crew.

Overview

HandoverPage records belong to a user and contain a title, rich-text body, sort order, and archive status. Handover notes serve as a digital replacement for handwritten logbooks, providing a structured way to pass information between shifts.

This module is designed for crew at shift change who need to document what happened during their shift and what the incoming crew needs to know.

Key Features

Multi-Page Documents

Handover notes are organized as multi-page documents. Each page can cover a different topic — for example, one page for equipment status, another for outstanding tasks, and a third for notes from the production team. Pages can be reordered with drag-and-drop.

Rich-Text Editor

Each page includes a rich-text editor supporting formatted text, lists, and other standard formatting options. This allows crew to create clear, well-structured notes.

Auto-Save

Content is automatically saved when switching between pages. This prevents data loss if a user navigates away or is interrupted during writing.

Archive System

Old handover notes are archived and grouped by date. This creates a searchable historical record of shift activity, useful for reviewing past events or investigating recurring issues.

Active and Archived Views

Users can toggle between active notes (the current working document) and the archive. The active view is focused on the current shift, while the archive provides access to the full history.
