Bulk Scanning

Multi-purpose barcode and QR scanning sessions for inventory verification, asset transfer building, and new asset ingestion — with multi-user collaborative support.

Overview

A BulkScan session is created with a defined purpose and location context. As items are scanned, entries are recorded and resolved against known asset tags in the system. Sessions support multiple scan groups and simultaneous operators via shareable join tokens.

Bulk scanning is designed for warehouse teams doing physical counts, technicians building transfer lists, and operations teams onboarding new equipment.

Scan Modes

Verify Existing Inventory

Scan assets at a location to confirm their presence. The review screen highlights discrepancies between what was scanned and what the system expects to be at that location.

Build a Transfer

Scan items to assemble a transfer manifest. Once the scan session is finalized, the scanned items are used to populate a new transfer record.

Ingest New Assets

Scan external barcodes (from manufacturer packaging, for example) to create new asset records in batch. This streamlines onboarding when receiving shipments of new equipment.

Key Features

Real-Time Scan Acknowledgment

Each scan is immediately resolved against the asset database. The interface provides instant feedback on whether the scanned tag matched a known asset, along with summary details.

Multi-User Sessions

A session can be shared via a join link or token. Multiple operators can scan into the same session simultaneously from different devices, enabling teams to parallelize physical counts across a large venue.

Duplicate Detection

The system prevents double-counting by flagging duplicate scans within the same session. This ensures accuracy during fast-paced scanning operations.

Review and Correction

Before finalizing a session, a review screen displays all scanned entries along with any discrepancies. Operators can correct errors, remove erroneous scans, or add missing items before committing the results.

Scan Groups

Scans within a session can be organized into groups. If errors are discovered in a group, it can be superseded by a new group, preserving the original data for audit purposes while ensuring only the corrected group is used for finalization.
